About
Dr. Md. Alamin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Physics at North South University (NSU) and the Principal Investigator of the BioData AI Lab.
He earned his PhD in Statistics and Bioinformatics from Zhejiang University in China, supported by the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC). Following his PhD, he continued as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Zhejiang University, supported by the China Postdoctoral Council’s International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship (Talent Introduction Program). Later, he joined the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China, as a Postdoctoral Fellow and subsequently served as a Senior Research Scholar (Equivalent to Assistant Professor) at the same institution.
Dr. Alamin’s research expertise spans Bioinformatics, Computational and Theoretical Data Science, Model Development, Statistical Genetics, and AI-driven Biomedical Analytics. He has extensive experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, single-cell multi-omics, and computational modeling.
Over the past decade, Dr. Alamin has worked on multidisciplinary research in bioinformatics, statistical genetics, and computational biology across China, Bangladesh, and other countries. He has led and collaborated on several data-driven and intervention research projects and served as a consultant for national and international initiatives.
His current research focuses on developing personalized cancer therapies by exploring genetic and epigenetic variations, as well as the microevolution of cancer cells, through single-cell sequencing technologies. Dr. Alamin has published more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including SCI and SCOPUS-Indexed journals, in the fields of Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics, and Medical Science.
Dr. Alamin is open to international research collaborations in Bioinformatics, AI, and Computational Statistics.
